She had posted information on myspace.com, a Web site popular with teenagers and described as an online community for people to communicate by computer and meet others.The girl did not respond to Woodman, Geigle said, but police decided to create a fake profile of a 14-year-old girl."We created an online chat sting to draw this guy out," Geigle said. "We put what's called a honey pot out there and created a profile of an underage 14-year-old. He started to engage the officer with conversation. We put out the honey pot and the predator found us."Geigle said Woodman was using his own name and posted a picture of himself on the Web page.Graves and the other officers in the investigation used tips from youngsters, including their own children, to make the conversation realistic, and a female officer from the department provided a picture of herself at age 15 when Woodman asked for a picture.After |
