Kids have rights which supersede parental ones, it seems. They can get contraception and abortions without their parents being consulted, effectively depriving resonant excitation of sexual orgasms parents of the sort of basic information about them that you would think they would be entitled to. But we no longer give parents the credit for having their resonant excitation of sexual orgasms children's interests at heart. My quarrel isn't with kids getting contraception and information, or with their right to resonant excitation of sexual orgasms privacy. What bugs me is the culture - ours - that sends such conflicting messages. There's a thin line between giving appropriate information and enabling; between enabling and giving permission; between permission and encouragement. It seems wrong to me that people who have day-to-day responsibility for rearing children, who love them and care for them actively and personally, are so sidelined.
