Yes, it’s ominous, someone clearly alluding to killing judges (which is already getting pretty tired). But the word is ironically. It is ironic to call your opponents “Marxist, Leninist, [and] satanic,” and then quote one of the most notorious (and notoriously evil) Communists to further your opinion that dissenters should probably be executed. |

There’s this whole anti-judiciary movement swirling around, and I’ve been sort of following it, because it’s the kind of thing that’s funny, not like funny ha-ha but funny oh I’m actually crying kinda, and not because I’m laughing but I would be because this is so fucking stupid, but they’re cannabis serious. My bullshit detector is not the most finely tuned piece of machinery. But my little line-scribbler thing is all over the place, and the red light’s flashing, and there’s some buzzers and stuff, because the shit spewing out of this movement is on the same level as your great-grandmother suffering from advanced dementia and halfway into her third bottle of store-brand vodka. Blatant contradictions and doublespeak are nothing new for the right wing, but they’re usually at least kinda smooth about it. |
