I have less sympathy for people who enlisted after the start of the Iraq war, as they had reasonable foresight that they were being sent to an illegal war. on top of that: no soldier can be legally compelled to obey an unlawful order. so, sorry but it’s a little late in the day for the nuremberg defense; that was rightfully rejected 60 years ago. |
