This film makes you feel pity and sorrow for Jake boyfriend LaMotta, but also makes you despise him for his dishonorable actions. This film leads you into Jake LaMotta's world, of paranoia and self pity. A downward spiral. The other thing that makes this film good is the well thought out cinematography and score it blends well with the black and white format. A boyfriend GOOD FILM for the people who really appreciate the art of film. Was this review helpful to you? Comparatively speaking, "Ordinary People" sucked. And Bobby Deniro should have won the award for "Best Actor"...not to mention most of the supporting cast winning awards also. Nonetheless, being heralded as the best movie of the 80's is a well-deserved accolade.
