Cameron’s sister Sharon (Alison Quinn) is self-conscious about her sexless marriage to Don (Jerry Lambert), especially when their mouthy 13-year-old daughter Carrie (Eden Sher) keeps asking why they sleep in separate beds. And then loudly pronounces that she’d “rather die” than endure such a passionless education student union. No secrets here. Cameron and Sharon also have a half-sister, Jenna (Amanda Walsh), a single mom who works as a waitress education student and tries to squeeze child support out of her ex, a white-trash dullard appropriately education student named Whitey (Greg Pitts). In tonight’s pilot, the zaniness begins with the grown siblings planning a 25th anniversary party for uptight mom Colleen (Dee Wallace) and Cameron and Sharon’s laid-back stepfather Wendal (Max Gail). When Wendal confides to Cameron that he’s thinking of taking off for a new life in his Winnebago, the “secret” spreads quickly. “Sons & Daughters” is different and promising.
