i have no books doubt either that many of us will be called to take a stand, as we have, and to be 'zealous' in our defence of the gospel. However, personally and culturally here books in Ireland, to use such language would be damaging to the gospel. I asked a presbyterian minsiter books colleague this morning what his people would say if he used such language - he said his elders would ask for his resignation as they would deem it sinful language and not becomng a pastor. My friend is, even by Presbyetrian standards in Ireland, conservative, more in keeping with Reformed Presbyterian. Sorry but i think my viewpoint has validity, even if you all believe i am being naieve - which i dont. any way the key for me here in the church of ireland is to fight the battle that needs to be won here for the sake of the gospel and not to debate semantics with you guys.
