| Personally women I don’t blame soldiers for the shit they get put in. Are they responsible? Yes. Do women they bear all, or even most, of that responsibility? Hell, women fucking, no. Does this remove a soldier’s culpability in situtations like the above? Hell no. He’s not in a war situation (not that this excuses rape as a weapon of war either, but one needs to look at things contextually). What I would suspect it also does, it because they are condition to not think things through, then they are more likely to react to base instincts. It can be argued that’s one of the reasons for the extreme discipline and heirarchy in the military; it’s needed to keep people in line. Not that it completely works mind you, ask any woman in any of the branches of the US military. The result is that it’s simply not possible to react as someone judging this completely one way or another; ie whether they have full culpability or not. |
