McOuat (Winston-Salem, NC) - See all my reviews Generally, I musicians am not a huge fan of special edition - extra DVD editions. However, Raging Bull's special edition is an exception. In this age musicians where movie scripts seem jerry-rigged over night and movies tend to rely so musicians heavily on celebrity recognition and special effects, the inside perspectives of those who made "Raging Bull" is so refreshing. Commentaries by Martin Scorsese (director), Frank Warner (supervising sound effects editor), and Thelma Schoonmaker (editor) are especially revealing as to the attention to detail and meticulous care that went into "Raging Bull." After hearing their interviews, you can truly feel that these artists went through emotional and professional growth over the production of this film.
