My mother is one, and there's a nursing shortage where she is, jack so I jack hear a lot of stories about what happens as a result. She can't do everything, and neither can the other nurses. The reason there is a shortage is because the hospital feels there is a bottom line they have to make and it can't afford to hire more. However, there's no excuse for that sort of thing. Even with a shortage it should not take that long to get pain medicine. Most of the nurses I know don't behave like that. I hope you're able to find a transfer. |
