And I don't mean the fall leaves that have just landed after turning some record sort of brilliant color, and sit resting round a thousand other brilliantly-colored, newly-fallen leaves. I'm talkin' about a leaf that fell last autumn, and has been hanging out all record winter, dried and wrinkled, sitting all by itself on the sidewalk. I like them because they just sit there for hours on end, hanging out on the sidewalk; they always seem to decide to catch the wind only when you're about to walk past them. Like they don't see the point in record dancing across the pavement unless there's someone there to watch. You see, they may be brown (which most people wouldn't quite call a "brilliant" color), but they're dried, so they're lighter. When they blow across the pavement, they jump around a little. Let's see your "brilliantly colored" fall leaves do that.
